Unconventional Florence Walking Tours

Do you think you know Florence? Well I really think you should take a walk to discover the unconventional places in town with The Florentine.

The walks

Thanks to Friends of Florence and Advancing Women Artists Foundation, the next Saturdays you can walk through unconventional places listening at Florence stories. The walking tours start this Saturday January 19th with the visit of Opera del Duomo Museum to discover the works of Micheangelo and Donatello and see the recently restored Paradise Gates by Ghiberti. It’s your chance to visit it since the museum is going to close soon for restoration work for a couple of years. The tour starts at 11am in front of the museum and lasts until 1pm. The costs is 20 euro per person including the ticket.

On Friday January 25th you can discover the Vasari Corridor and its hidden gems. The tour will focus on women artists and their works. It starts at 3pm and costs 60 euro, including the ticket to the Corridor. On Saturday 26th it’s time to discover Spedale del Bigallo and Misericordia Museum, generally closed to the public. It’s going to be a walk in Florence ancient history of confraternities to help the needy. The walk starts at 11am at the steps of the Duomo and costs 15 euro.
