Italian Gelato
Starts today the third edition of Firenze Gelato Festival, that is the international festival for ice-cream.
Lots of events and tons of ice-cream will be there for you! Every day from 12pm to 12am you can taste the best gelato ever through out the city thanks to Italian and international masters.
In Piazza Santa Maria Novella there is the village of Masters Ice-Cream Makers presenting their best ice-cream flavor, together with young apprentices making their new flavors. In Piazza della Repubblica, there is the Sammontana village, where you can taste all the different ice-creams made by this famous Italian company. In Piazza Strozzi there is the Fior Fiore Coop Village displaying the best ice-cream made with fresh ingredients by Coop.
If you want to learn how to make gelato you can take a course organized by Carpigiani Gelato Univeristy. Courses are every day in the afternoon at 12am, 2.30pm, 4.30pm,6.30pm and 8.30pm. Then learn how to cook with ice-cream thanks to famous chef that will teach you every day at the Gelato Show Cooking at 3.30pm, 5.30pm and 9.30pm.
The Firenze Gelato Festival goes on until Sunday May 27th together with other events. If you want to taste ice-cream you need to buy the Gelato Card at the Info Point in Piazza Santa Maria Novella, Piazza della Repubblica and Piazza Strozzi. It costs 15 euro and includes 5 tastings, 1 gelato cocktail and several branded souvenirs. For more information look at the official website of Firenze Gelato Festival.
