On November 4th 1966 after few days of steady rain the Arno river flooded and submerged the city of Florence with lots and lots of mood and water, damaging almost everything. Several artworks had been completely destroyed, as well as precious books. Some people died and Florence took months to recover from this terrible accident.

When you walk around the city look over your head where you can see the plaques commemorating the flood of Arno river. Because Florence will never forget, so will I.
